Seminary of Saint Albert the Great

Albertian Order of the Monks of Saint Thomas

The Seminary of Saint Albert the Great offers degree programs through distance learning (combining directed independent study and computer-aided distance study), generally designed to prepare candidates academically and through spiritual formation for ordained ministry in the Church. Our programs are designed especially to assist individuals in exploration of the issues of our world within the context of Theology, Sacred Scripture, Ethics and Ministry. Course work may also be undertaken by lay persons wishing to increase the effectiveness of their Christian leadership and ministry, and for the continuing education of the clergy.

There are people who feel called by God to explore a variety of contemporary ministries. This sense of seeking to widen their professional, personal and spiritual expertise calls for renewed strength, learning and competence. The Seminary of Saint Albert the Great is structured using the traditional English model, thereby providing an educational environment for those people who are able to work independently in our external study programs, in close cooperation with directing mentors. The Christian community serves as the base for student projects and learning. We will explore with students, the framework of structured study plans, and how the program can develop to meet their ministerial goals.
